New YouTube Finds

Their voices are amazing.

Perfect harmony.

Featherstone – The Paper Kites

Relaxing, soulful, rejuvenating.

Hauntingly beautiful.

I know I’m supposed to be writing/blogging. But I guess sometimes music expresses what words cannot.

Seven facts about me!

1. I am a chocoholic but I don’t like chocolate ice cream.

2. I’ve never had a long term pet.

3. My tongue can reach the tip of my chin.

4. I want to have a white BMW when I grow up.

5. I prefer to live in the city. PARIS, MILAN, MELBOURNE (Will be visiting Melby next week – can’t wait!!!)

6. My favourite colour will always be pink. Yes, I’m fiercely loyal.

7. I often ask people: Why? What do you think? I guess I’m more interested in the WHY more than anything else.

This is weird.

It took me two seconds to love the singer and the song.

They’re fantabulous. Just breathtaking.

The band is Bastille and the song is Pompeii. The setting is quite beautiful too – it’s just perfect!

Acoustic version of “Flaws” is simple. Ah, the beauty in simplicity. So Flawless. See what I did there? Sorry, can’t resist.

Same song but with the violin playing just — eargasm.

YouTube is always random and amazing sometimes.

Let me know what you think 😉

Try and see what happens…

People being people.
People being people.

“Instead of putting others down, try improving yourself
instead. The only person you have a right to compete with is
you. In the meantime, treat others how you’d like to be
treated. One trait that some of the best (communicators) share
is empathy. A couple of kind words can not only make a
person’s day, but earn you a friend and supporter for life.
For the rest of the week, whenever you see someone you want to
judge negatively, pay them a compliment instead. See what
happens.”

— Neil Strauss

The Truth Is…?

First, watch this clip. Less than a minute of your time, I promise it’s worth it!

Well here is the truth… at least my opinion, anyway.

Even though he wasn’t wearing a sleeveless shirt, his arms and that abs – to die for.

Oh who am I kidding? He’s perfect.

Hamish MacDonald’s crystal blue eyes and a smile revealing his perfect pearly white teeth is just as disarming as his earnest opinion on journalism. Ah, not to mention his lovely British-Australian English accent. I can listen to him speak until the world ends… I digress.

I had a chance to ask him a question after his presentation in The Hall at Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane.

Me: What do you think is the biggest challenge in journalism today?

I think it’s what to do next. Your generation is shaping the everchanging media landscape and who knows what jobs will be available once you’re done here – maybe you’ll get a job that isn’t even invented yet. The challenge has always been to make something informative and appealing. But it’s always changing and you guys are in a unique position because you are organic users of technology and social media.

– Hamish MacDonald, Journalist and Host of “The Truth is…?”

His upcoming TV show on Channel 10 (Australia) is investigative journalism at its rawest form. It’s a bold take on controversial and bizarre issues that promises to make jaw-dropping revelations in an attempt to challenge the public’s perception of what is… the truth. (Whatever they think it is. Whatever you think it is)

Watch it on Monday nights at 8:30 pm.

1. What is your favourite book?

Ah, this is a tough one. I’m not ready to answer this!

  • Making dinner for one of my best friend’s aunt and uncle. They let us stay in their house for the weekend because it’s a sleepy town but I enjoyed their company tremendously. I don’t know about you but I have a soft spot for older generations so hearing about their lives and travels – all the struggles, the fun and excitement, the joy and tragedy, the beauty and pain of existence. They’re such beautiful people.

Papaya/Pawpaw

6. Do you prefer cooking for yourself, or others?

I don’t cook much – perhaps not at all! Thank goodness for Mama and my auntie.

If the world turns upside down and I learn how to cook, I’d love to cook for others.. that is if I feel confident enough. But nothing beats a really easy, simple homemade meal for your lovely self so the answer is BOTH!

7. Favourite blogs on the internet?

Garance Doré – a vivacious, witty French blogger who is effortlessly chic and humorous!

Humans of New York – Brandon Stanton’s photographs and the conversations he has with strangers never fail to amaze me, I’m sure you will blown away if you check it out 😉

I wrote about him here in my blog.

Movie2k ~ I thank the creator of this site from the bottom of my heart)

Sidereel ~ I’m also a TV series fanatic. Scandal, Revenge, Suits, Grey’s Anatomy, The Mindy Kaling Project – you name it.

8. One place you would love to travel to?

E-U-R-O-P-E. ‘Nuff said.

9. Casual dining or fine dining?

Casual dining for sure!! Fine dining is no fun if you have to pretend to be prim and proper.

10. Salt or pepper?

Random question. Salt.

11. Spicy food: yes or no?

I love spicy food so yes! I like putting a bit of spicy stuff on my food especially in soup dishes and pizza 🙂

Thank you soo much to Genevieve for nominating me for the Liebster Award!

So unexpected and had a great time answering these questions 🙂

You know you’re procrastinating when…

When you start vacuuming your room and end up vacuuming the whole entire house at 5 in the afternoon… ‘cause that’s what I do when I’m stressed out.

When you start singing “Can’t take my eyes off of you” and “Fly me to the moon” ‘cause they’re suddenly too catchy to ignore.

When you start watching “Devil Wears Prada” with your cousins for the millionth time and laugh before Miranda says, “That’s all.”

When you look at Facebook and think that so much time is wasted on it… then you think, well maybe I’ll deactivate my account. Then one of your best friends starts talking to you and you have a heart-to-heart.

When you start writing an epic letter – a novella/memoir – that you know you’ll send after a few weeks time because you’re not ready, it’s not good enough and you want to make it better and funnier. But you know there’s not a chance. It’s just another excuse to procrastinate.

When you realise you’re writing a blog post entitled “You know you’re procrastinating when…” and you continue… procrastinating.

Come on, tell me you’re not procrastinating! I dare you.

Image
Feeling lost? Yeah, me too.

Now the question is… are you brave enough to share your own procrastinating habits?
